White Manor Farm

Character and charm abound

  1. Two years after we fell in love with our “the one that got away” home (here is my post with that story), we had our antique property and were still considering the floor plan for our dream home…so many options and ideas and we were in no rush, so decided to take our time. Little did we know the housing and build market were going to shift dramatically while we planned. For that reason, we kept our options open.

While on vacation, this home came on the market and I was immediately drawn to the beautiful porches and all the character inside the home…all the details! By the time we got home, it was already under contract, so we didn’t have an opportunity to pursue it. A few months later, it came back on the market (contract fell through) and we had an opportunity for a showing. Here are some photos:

Pros

  • House had lots of charm and potential for our personal touches to make it our own
  • Lots of space
  • Picturesque surroundings with three porches
  • Pool
  • the lower level was finished with a sleeping room, craft room or office, and a media room
  • While it’s not my hometown and a little far from Emma Claire’s school, we love this town so much for all it has to offer.

Cons

  • It was a little far from school
  • As beautiful as it was, just like our inspo house, it needed expensive repairs
  • Master Suite was not on the main floor
  • HOAs were a little more restrictive than our property
  • While I love this style home, it’s not the story and a half southern style with dormers that has my heart

In the end, we loved the house, but loved our dream more. Our journey continues…

“Wait on the Lord; be strong and take heart.” -Psalms 27:14
